Class Visits

We invite you to visit the library with your class! All grade levels are welcome. We ask all Teachers to contact their local library in advance of a visit so we can ensure that we have the library prepared to welcome you and your students to help make your visit a successful one. If you would like to arrange a guided visit, we would be happy to lead this for you.  We often include a story time or skills based game and tour during these visits.  For Kindergarten classes, we offer at least two guided visit per school year with library tour and story time.  For older grades, we offer at least one guided visit per school year.  We are also interest in coming to your classroom if you cannot make it to the library.  To arrange a visit of any kind, please contact Kathleen.

Borrowing materials with or for your class:

Individual Teachers are welcome to create a "class card" whereby they borrow materials fine-free for and with their students. These materials remain in the classroom for the borrowing period for students to use and are returned by the teacher upon their next visit. Teachers often create a special bin for public library books to keep these separate from school library materials

Can’t find a resource you need?

If we don’t have the resource you are looking for for use with your class, we offer an interlibrary loan system where you can request a title and we search libraries across Southern Ontario to bring this resource in for you.  For this service, please contact your local library.
