The Selwyn Public Library will re-open to the public 
the week of August 17th.

We look forward to seeing our patrons in person, and wish to remind everyone that safety measures, respect, and patience will help ensure a smooth re-opening and pleasant experience for everyone.

We expect that volume will be heaviest during the first few days/weeks after we re-open. We thank you for your support of the library and enthusiasm. If you happen to be waiting in line to enter the library remember we offer free Wi-Fi 24/7. The network name is Public Library and no password is required. Free free to connect while you wait.

Hours of Operation:

Bridgenorth Library - Mondays 10am - 2pm; Wednesdays 2pm - 6pm; Thursdays 12pm - 3pm.

Ennismore Library - Tuesdays 10am - 1pm & Thursdays 4pm - 6pm.

Lakefield Library- Tuesdays & Wednesdays 10am - 2pm; Thursdays 3pm - 7pm.

Procedures:

Max Occupancy

 

  • The number of people allowed to enter the library at one time will vary based on location:
    • Bridgenorth: 10 patrons maximum at one time
    • Lakefield: 7 patrons maximum at one time
    • Ennismore: 3 patrons or 1 family unit maximum at one time
  • Once maximum occupancy has been reached, the “1 person in, one person out” rule will apply
  • Patrons, who are able, are required to wear a mask
  • Patrons must sanitize their hands when entering and exiting the branch
  • Patrons visits will be limited to 30 minutes
  • Patrons must remain 2 meters apart at all times

 

Computer Access

 

  • Computers will be available by appointment only
  • Patrons are limited to one 30 minute session per day
  • Patrons must sanitize their hands before using the computers

 

Washroom Access

 

  • Washrooms will be available use
  • Patrons must sanitize their hands before and after entering the washroom

 

Returns

 

  • Patrons will be directed to return all materials through the library book return slots or boxes located at each branch
  • All item that are returned are quarantined for 3 days before being checked in
  • Items that were overdue throughout our closure will be checked in fine-free

 

Borrowing

 

  • If a patron brings a reusable bag, they must bag library materials themselves

 

Photocopies/Faxes

 

  • Photocopying and faxing must be completed by staff
  • Cash only for payment

 

Curbside Pickup Continues

Starting August 17th, curbside pickup will continue to be an available option for anyone who is uncomfortable entering the library. The procedure will continue as normal.

 

  • Step 1: Place items on hold using the library's online catalogue.
  • Step 2: Wait for a library staff member to call.
    • When we call that your library item is ready, we will offer in-library or curbside pickup during branch open hours.
  • Step 3: Pickup your items.
    • When arriving, please wait in the designated pickup location. If returning items, please place them directly into the dropbox. If possible, call the library to let us know you've arrived. Open and close your own trunk.
