Correspondence for Direction:

That the following items of correspondence be received for information and that staff proceed with the recommended direction therein:

1. Ministry of Transportation, Culture and Sport  - Ontario Municipal Commuter Cycling Program 2017 (OMCC)


Whereas the Ministry of Transportation, Culture and Sport has announced a four-year funding program (OMCC) to support and develop commuter cycling infrastructure; and

Whereas municipalities must declare their commitment to participate in the OMCC annually and must confirm that they have a cycling or Active Transportation Plan which identifies commuter cycling capital projects; and

Whereas the Township of Selwyn has adopted a Trails Master Plan (2012) that includes commuter cycling infrastructure and has endorsed the County of Peterborough Active Transportation Master Plan which identifies Township of Selwyn commuter cycling infrastructure;   

Now therefore be it resolved that the Council of the Township of Selwyn authorize the Mayor and the Clerk to execute the 2017 application declaration for the Ontario Municipal Commuter Cycling (OMCC) program and that staff provide the link to the Township 2012 Trails Master Plan, and the County of Peterborough's Active Transportation Master Plan as the list of Township of Selwyn projects that could be implemented using OMCC's funds.
