Mayor's MessageMayor Mary Smith

On behalf of the Council and citizens of the Township of Selwyn, I am pleased to welcome you to our community.

The Township of Selwyn, situated north of the city of Peterborough, is bordered almost entirely by lakes. This largely rural township includes the urban communities of Lakefield and Bridgenorth, and the quaint historic hamlets of Ennismore, Young's Point and Buckhorn. It is a diversified and active community known for its exceptional quality of life and for its location in the beautiful setting of the Kawarthas. You will find that it is a wonderful place to live, raise a family, work and visit.

The Township of Selwyn boasts many attractions and events that enhance the quality of life for all residents. Along with the many beautiful lakes, parks and trails, the township also provides excellent recreational facilities, heritage and cultural sites, shopping, restaurants, festivals, entertainment and accommodations. Activities and events abound for our residents' enjoyment.

Selwyn Township is strongly committed to community engagement and planning for its future. We have consulted with residents and business owners to adopt several guiding documents to help us make decisions and use our resources efficiently and effectively. All of these documents can be found on here on the Township of Selwyn website and demonstrate the Township's readiness for the future.

We extend you a warm invitation to participate in the many activities that the Township of Selwyn has to offer, and to make full use of the amenities available to you. In this way, you will soon discover the friendliness of our residents, and truly become a part of the community.

We know you will enjoy discovering all that the Township of Selwyn has to offer!
