Custom Keychain Children's Program (Ages 4-12) |
Turn your art into a custom keychain! Children must be accompanied by an adult. This program is free to attend, but registration is required.

Monthly Needlework Group Drop-In |
A time for people to work on their own projects. No formal teaching provided.
Knitting, crochet, cross-stitch, hand-embroidery. SPL Makerspace. 1 Bridge St., Lakefield Tuesday, November 5th, 6pm-8pm Wednesday, November 6th, 10am-12pm No registration required. |
Wine Glass Appetizer Toppers |
Take your party to the next level with personalized wine glass toppers!
During this 2 hour class we will teach and support you to design your very own wine glass appetizer toppers. (Basic computer skills required) Following class, staff will engrave your designs onto your toppers for pickup at a later date. Each person will get to design and make 2 plates. Plates are made of bamboo and are hand-wash only. The cost for this class is $10 and will be collected at the start of class.

Ennismore Holly Tea & Christmas Craft Sale |
Hosted by Selwyn Public Library & Community Care Ennismore. SPL Makerspace will be a vendor with lots of handmade items by makerspace volunteers and staff.

Christmas Card Making |
Join us for a fun class and learn how to make 3 coordinated Christmas cards.
All supplies will be provided to make 3 cards.
Each set of 3 cards will have coordinated cardstock, but each card will have a different design. The cost is $10 and will be collected before class starts.

Acrylic Pour with Lesley Hamilton |
Lesley Hamilton is a local artist who specializes in the art of acrylic pouring. She joined us in the makerspace last year and we are so excited to have her return. All materials and supplies provided. Each person will make two 12"x12" pieces on canvas. The first piece, participants will learn how to create a dirty pour. $65 per person.
This class is appropriate for beginners and no prior experience is required.

SPL Makerspace Christmas Market |
One Day Only! The SPL Makerspace will be set up in the Bridgenorth Library with all our handcrafted items for sale. Everything is made by Makerspace volunteers and staff. All proceeds support makerspace programming. Laser cut ornaments, cards, embroidery items, sublimation mugs and tumblers, and so much more. |

The idea behind makerspaces is simple: they are places where people can come together to learn about technology, crafts and other kinds of making, to share knowledge and skills with others, and to apply this knowledge and skill by creating things. You can explore using high-tech to no-tech tools.

SPL Makerspace is looking for volunteers who will assisit with many tasks, including the following:
Makerspace Volunteer Application
Crafting for a Cause Volunteers Love crafting and want to give back to the community/those in need? Our team of "Crafting for a Cause" volunteers will work on quarterly projects coordinated by the SPL Makerspace and a local organization/group. At the end of each quarter products will be donated. SPL Makershop Volunteers The SPL Makershop is the perfect volunteer opportunity for those who love crafting and supporting the library. With the SPL Makershop, volunteers will make items that will be sold in the makerspace to raise fundraising dollars for the library & makerspace. All materials and supplies provided. Interested?
