Image of Mayor Andy MitchellSelwyn Township is a great place to live, work, do business and enjoy. On behalf of Council and our residents I welcome you to our community.

Selwyn has been blessed with an abundance of natural assets including our lakes, agricultural land and many significant settlement areas. As a community we seek the appropriate balance between development and protection of our natural environment.

Selwyn is a full service community. We provide services across generations and recognize our geographic diversity from the suburbs of Peterborough to the Canadian Shield, from our agricultural areas in Smith and Ennismore, to our collection of unique villages like Lakefield and Bridgenorth and our historic hamlets like Ennismore, Buckhorn and Young's Point.

More than anything else Selwyn is distinguished by its residents. Some have been here for generations while others are relative newcomers. Collectively we take care of each other; raise our families surrounded by community; enjoy retirement with friends, both new and old; and share a deep pride of place with all who call Selwyn home.

Selwyn is a welcoming community. If you are looking for a place to visit, our lakes and natural beauty are second to none and we have a range of activities and services that will enhance your experience.

If you are looking to set up a business, we offer infrastructure to service your enterprise, a range of unique locations to operate from and access to a nearby market of over 9 million people.

I invite you to come to Selwyn Township to live, to visit and to do business. As everyone knows we are “naturally great”.
