Half Load Restrictions

Half-load restrictions in the Township of Selwyn will begin Sunday, March 1, 2026.

To protect our road network during the spring thaw, half-load restrictions are implemented annually beginning March 1, in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act. These measures help prevent road damage when municipal roads are most vulnerable to heavy vehicle traffic. 

During this period, vehicles are limited to a maximum of 5 tonnes per axle, and truck and commercial transport access may be restricted in affected areas. 

Restrictions remain in effect until April 30, 2026, unless otherwise announced.

Circular Economy in Selwyn Township

Selwyn Township is working with partners across Peterborough County to support a shift toward a circular economy, an approach that reduces waste and makes better use of the resources we already have.
