Half Load Restrictions
Half-load restrictions in the Township of Selwyn will begin Sunday, March 1, 2026.
To protect our road network during the spring thaw, half-load restrictions are implemented annually beginning March 1, in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act. These measures help prevent road damage when municipal roads are most vulnerable to heavy vehicle traffic.
During this period, vehicles are limited to a maximum of 5 tonnes per axle, and truck and commercial transport access may be restricted in affected areas.
Restrictions remain in effect until April 30, 2026, unless otherwise announced.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping to preserve our roads.
Small wildlife such as foxes, coyotes and raccoons co-exist in many residential areas. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry manages Ontario’s natural resources and wildlife on behalf of all Ontarians.
