Half Load Restrictions

Half-load restrictions in the Township of Selwyn will begin Sunday, March 1, 2026.

To protect our road network during the spring thaw, half-load restrictions are implemented annually beginning March 1, in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act. These measures help prevent road damage when municipal roads are most vulnerable to heavy vehicle traffic. 

During this period, vehicles are limited to a maximum of 5 tonnes per axle, and truck and commercial transport access may be restricted in affected areas. 

Restrictions remain in effect until April 30, 2026, unless otherwise announced.

Lakefield & Woodland Acres Water Main Flushing

In order to sustain water quality in the water distribution system, the Township of Selwyn once again intends to performroutine flushing of water mains throughout Lakefield and Woodland Acres.

The flushing will be conducted generally between April 14th to April 24th, 2026 during anytime of the day or night.

If you should notice iron coloured water, please let your cold water tap closest to the source run for 20-30 minutes or until the water clears.
