Labour Day - Monday, September 7th, 2026
The Municipal Office will be CLOSED Monday, September 7th, 2026 for Labour Day.
There will be no changes to garbage or recycling collection Monday, September 7th, 2026. Please have all items out for collection by 7:00 AM.
The Smith Landfill (1480 County Road 18) and all branches of the Selwyn Public Library will also be CLOSED on Monday, September 7th, 2026.
Water Restrictions in Effect for Lakefield & Woodland Acres
Each year, we ask you to follow lawn watering restrictions to ensure there is enough water for everyone. Non-compliance may result in a $50 surcharge on your water bill under By-Law 2010-045.

Accessibility is an ongoing commitment. Through policies, community partnerships, accessible technology, facility improvements and inclusive recreation opportunities, Selwyn Township continues to identify and reduce barriers throughout our community.
From accessible customer service and digital tools to inclusive waterfronts, playgrounds and trails, the Township is working to make Selwyn more welcoming and accessible for everyone.
Accessibility Advisory Committee
The Joint Peterborough County–Township of Selwyn Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) provides information and recommendations to Township and County Councils on matters related to accessibility.
The Committee plays an important role in identifying and reducing barriers for persons with disabilities and helping ensure accessibility is considered in municipal programs, services, facilities and initiatives.
Accessible Customer Service Standards
The Township has adopted an Accessible Customer Service Standards Policy to help ensure that people with disabilities can access Township goods, services and information in a way that supports independence, dignity, integration and equal opportunity.
The policy establishes the Township's commitment to accessible customer service and provides direction for how services are delivered to people with disabilities. The Township also provides procedures and practices related to communication, service animals, support persons, accessible formats, feedback and temporary service disruptions.

The Township offers Reachdeck, a web accessibility toolbar designed to make information on our website easier to access and navigate for people with different accessibility needs.

Selwyn is committed to creating recreation opportunities where people of all abilities can participate and enjoy the outdoors.
Accessibility improvements have been incorporated into parks, beaches, waterfronts and recreation spaces throughout the Township, including accessible water access and inclusive playground features.
Isabel Morris Park
An assistive canoe and kayak launch at Isabel Morris Park provides an accessible way for people with mobility challenges to access the water.
Isabel Morris Park is located at 20 Concession Street, Lakefield, beside the Lakefield-Smith Community Centre and along the Otonabee River.
Lakefield Beach
Lakefield Beach features a fully accessible canoe and kayak launch, providing improved access to the water for residents and visitors.
The beach is located at 64 Hague Boulevard, Lakefield, and is also connected to the Lakefield Trail and other nearby recreation amenities.
The Township's Creating an Inclusive Waterfront in Lakefield project included a $60,000 investment through the Ontario Government's Inclusive Community Grants Program to support the installation of an assistive launch at Isabel Morris Park and a fully accessible canoe and kayak launch at Lakefield Beach.
Ennismore Waterfront Park & Beach is one of Selwyn's largest recreation destinations, covering more than 50 acres on the shores of Chemong Lake.
The park offers a beach, swimming area, picnic spaces and pavilion, playground and the Ennismore Heritage Trail.
The Township has continued to invest in accessibility at the park so that more people can enjoy the waterfront, play, gather and explore together.
Jude's Joy Inclusive Playground
The Jude's Joy Inclusive Playground provides an inclusive play environment designed to welcome children and families of all abilities.

Mobi-Mat and Accessible Sand Table
A Mobi-Mat provides a firm, accessible pathway over the beach surface, helping people using wheelchairs, mobility devices and other assistive equipment get closer to the water.
An accessible sand table allows children with different mobility needs to participate in sensory and imaginative play alongside their friends and family.
These features help make the waterfront experience more inclusive and gives visitors greater opportunity to enjoy the beach together.
Accessible Pathways
Accessible pathways throughout the playground and surrounding area help create a more connected and comfortable experience for people using wheelchairs, walkers, strollers and other mobility devices.
Together, these improvements help ensure that accessibility is considered not only at the playground itself, but throughout the visitor experience.

The park is now more accessible and inclusive with the addition of an inclusive playground on rubber surfacing, asphalt pathways connecting the parking lot to the playground and surrounding areas, an asphalt parking lot, and a Mobi-Mat providing accessible access to the waterfront.
These improvements are helping create a space where more people of all ages and abilities can play, connect and enjoy the park together.

The project represents a strong community partnership between Jude's Joy, the Ennismore Optimist Club and the Township of Selwyn, supported by community fundraising and funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
Accessibility improvements at Ennismore Waterfront Park & Beach will continue.
The Township is planning further accessibility improvements to the Ennismore Heritage Trail in 2027, building on work already undertaken to better understand and improve the trail experience for people with disabilities.
The project has included work to assess the trail, GPS mapping and consultation with the Accessibility Advisory Committee, with the goal of creating a more inclusive and user-friendly trail experience.
The Ennismore Heritage Trail currently consists of three loops totaling approximately 4 kilometres, with boardwalks, a picnic shelter, an osprey platform and interpretive signage through a variety of natural settings.
More information about the 2027 improvements will be shared as the project progresses.
