Unless otherwise posted, there is a three-hour time limit for parking on Township roads within the Village of Lakefield.
Parking
Parking in the Township is regulated by both the Township of Selwyn and the County of Peterborough. Make sure you know what kind of road you are on so that you know which parking regulations apply.

Township Roads and Property
The Township of Selwyn enforces parking restrictions on Township roads and property. The Township’s Parking By-law provides details about where and when parking is permitted.
The Township’s Parking By-law prohibits parking any vehicle on a parking lot in a Township park between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
Similarly, the By-law prohibits the parking, standing, or stopping of any vehicle on parkland except for where a lane, ramp, or parking lot is provided.
To help with winter maintenance operations, the Township’s Parking By-law prohibits parking on all Township roads from November 1 to April 15, between 02:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
Similarly, the By-law prohibits the parking of any vehicle on any highway in a way that interferes with the removal of snow or ice, the clearing of snow, regardless of the time of day.

County Roads
The County of Peterborough enforces parking restrictions on county roads within the Township of Selwyn. Peterborough County’s Parking Regulation By-law provides details about where and when parking is permitted on County roads.

Peterborough County’s Parking Regulation By-law prohibits parking on County roads from October 15 to May 15, between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
