Yellow Heat Warning

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a Yellow Heat Warning for our region. From July 13th - 16th, expect daytime highs up to 30 to 37° (Humidex values of 38 to 45).
Please take precautions to stay safe:
  • Stay hydrated – drink plenty of water
  • Avoid outdoor activities during peak heat (11:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
  • Never leave people or pets in parked vehicles
  • Wear loose, light clothing and sunscreen
  • Check on vulnerable friends, family, and neighbours
Cooling/heat relief locations are available at the Selwyn Public Library branches in Bridgenorth, Ennismore and Lakefield during operating hours.
You can also beat the heat and cool off at one of Selwyn Township's public beaches.

Water Restrictions in Effect for Lakefield & Woodland Acres

Each year, we ask you to follow lawn watering restrictions to ensure there is enough water for everyone. Non-compliance may result in a $50 surcharge on your water bill under By-Law 2010-045.

Ennismore Gears Up for a Weekend of Family Fun and Tradition at the 2026 Shamrock Festival!

Get ready! The beloved Ennismore Shamrock Festival returns this Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19, bringing a full weekend of entertainment, community spirit, and family-friendly activities to the Robert E. Young Recreation Complex.

Now in its 50+ year tradition, the Ennismore Shamrock Festival continues to be a highlight of the summer season, offering something for everyone—from games and food to thrilling truck pulls and local crafts.

Saturday, July 18 – Family Fun Day (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM)

  • Admission is free to this fun-filled community celebration, featuring:
  • Delicious BBQ fare: peameal bacon on a bun, burgers, hot dogs & cold drinks
  • Kids’ attractions: bouncy castles, obstacle courses & petting zoo
  • Tasty treats: Beavertails, Snowie sno-cones, fresh lemonade
  • Youth sports tournaments: soccer and rookie ball hosted by the Ennismore Optimist Club
  • Garage & bake sale continues at the Ennismore Curling Club

Sunday, July 19 – Craft Show & Truck and Tractor Pull

  • Craft Show at the Ennismore Community Centre (11:00 AM – 4:00 PM, $2 admission)
  • Truck and Tractor Pull – always a crowd favourite!
    • Gates open: 10:30 AM
    • Pull begins: 12 Noon
    • Admission: $10 per person (children 12 and under free, cash only)
  • Great food and drinks available (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), including Jesse’s Tap & Grill, Beavertails and more.
