The Festival Planning Committee would like to extend a sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the 2026 Ennismore Shamrock Festival, held this past weekend.

From the lively Family Fun Day to the high-energy Truck & Tractor Pull and community craft show, this year’s festival brought hundreds of people together to celebrate the spirit, and hospitality that Ennismore is known for.

Effective immediately, the Selwyn Fire Department has lifted the Total Burn Ban that was issued on July 16, 2026, due to hazardous air quality caused by smoke from wildfires in Northern Ontario.

With air quality and fire conditions improving, residents may resume open-air burning in accordance with the Township’s Open-Air Burning By-law. Residents are reminded that all burning must be conducted safely and responsibly, and that all requirements outlined in the by-law must be followed. The Open-Air Burning By-law can be found at selwyntownship.ca/FireDepartment.

The Township of Selwyn and the Ennismore Shamrock Festival Committee have made the difficult decision to reschedule the Family Fun Day, originally planned for Saturday, July 18, to Sunday, July 19, due to forecasted weather conditions.

One of the Kawarthas’ most anticipated summer traditions returns this July as the Lakefield Jazz, Art & Craft Festival brings a full day of live music, artisan shopping, local food, and community celebration to the heart of Lakefield.

On Saturday, July 11, 2026, festivalgoers are invited to Isabel Morris Park (20 Concession Street, Lakefield) from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. to experience an unforgettable day along the scenic Otonabee River.

Celebrating the vibrant spirit of arts and culture in Selwyn Township, the festival combines exceptional live jazz performances with handcrafted works from talented artisans and makers from across the region.

Environment Canada has issued an extreme heat warning due to the extremely high tempatures expected over the next few days.

Please take precautions to stay safe:

• Stay hydrated – drink plenty of water
• Avoid outdoor activities during peak heat (11:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
• Never leave people or pets in parked vehicles
• Wear loose, light clothing and sunscreen
• Check on vulnerable friends, family, and neighbours
