After reviewing Environment Canada weather reports and observing current weather conditions, sidewalk, and road conditions, the Significant Weather Event declared by the Township of Selwyn has now been lifted.

Watermain Break - Clementi Street, Lakefield

Please be advised that crews are on site responding to a water main break on Clementi Street in Lakefield - single lane access only while repairs take place.

Residents in the surrounding area may experience temporary water interruptions or discoloured water throughout the day. If discoloured water occurs, please run your cold water for approximately 20 minutes until it clears.

Significant Weather Event Lifted

After reviewing Environment Canada weather reports and observing current weather conditions, sidewalk, and road conditions, the Significant Weather Event declared by the Township of Selwyn has now been lifted, effective at 12 Noon on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

Please note that declaring the end of the event means that the Township of Selwyn now feels that the weather has subsided enough to meet the required maintenance objective timelines.

Drivers and pedestrians are reminded to use caution while navigating in winter weather conditions; and that there is no parking on all Township roads overnight during the winter season to allow for safe and effective snow clearing.

Please be assured that Selwyn Township’s Public Works crew are continuing with regular winter maintenance activities.

The Miskin Law Community Centre and Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre in the City of Peterborough are open Tuesday, December 30, 2025, and available for warming space and charging devices to all County and City residents.

Miskin Law Community Centre (271 Lansdowne Street West, Peterborough)

  • 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre (775 Brealey Drive, Peterborough)

  • 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM

All three branches of the Selwyn Public Library are open Tuesday, December 30, 2025, and are available for warming space and charging devices.

Ennismore Branch (551 Ennis Road, Ennismore)

  • 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Bridgenorth Branch (836 Charles Street, Bridgenorth)

  • 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Lakefield Branch (8 Queen Street, Lakefield)

  • 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
