Canada Day - Waste Collection Changes

Please note the following schedule changes for Canada Day (Wednesday, July 1st, 2026):

  • Garbage collection shifts by one day 
    • Wednesday collection moves to Thursday
    • Thursday collection moves to Friday
    • Friday collection moves to Saturday
  • No change to recycling collection. Please have all items to the curb by 7:00 AM to ensure collection.
  • Friday's curbside green waste collection in Bridgenorth also shifts by one day (Friday collection moves to Saturday) 

Please note: The Selwyn Township Municipal Office and the Smith Landfill will be CLOSED on Canada Day (Wednesday, July 1st, 2026). 

Water Restrictions in Effect for Lakefield & Woodland Acres

Each year, we ask you to follow lawn watering restrictions to ensure there is enough water for everyone. Non-compliance may result in a $50 surcharge on your water bill under By-Law 2010-045.

Use Elections Ontario’s Voter Registration Service to confirm, update, add or remove your voter information for provincial and municipal elections, including School Board Trustee elections. 

School support information is collected by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC). To update your school support, use MPAC’s Online School Support Tool.

The Ennismore Shamrock Festival is set to return to the Robert E. Young Recreation Complex (553 Ennis Road) on Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19, 2026, celebrating more than 50 years of tradition and community spirit.

Saturday, July 18 – Family Fun Day (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM)

  • Free admission!
  • Savour delicious treats including a BBQ with peameal on a bun, burgers, hot dogs, drinks, Beavertails, Sno Cones, and lemonade
  • Enjoy bouncy castles, inflatable obstacle courses, and a petting zoo
  • Cheer on youth in soccer and rookie ball tournaments hosted by the Ennismore Optimist Club
  • Browse the Ennismore Curling Club’s Garage Sale next door

Sunday, July 19 – Craft Show and Truck and Tractor Pull (from 11:00 AM)

  • Browse locally made goods at the Craft Show inside the Ennismore Community Centre ($2 admission)
  • Watch powerful competitors at the Truck and Tractor Pull, kicking off at Noon (Adult Admission $10; Children 12 and under FREE; Cash only)
  • Enjoy food and drink from licensed vendors on-site, including Jesse’s TAP & Grill, Beavertails, and Sno Cones.
