Family Fun Day Rescheduled to Sunday, July 19 as Part of Ennismore Shamrock Festival
The Township of Selwyn and the Ennismore Shamrock Festival Committee have made the difficult decision to reschedule the Family Fun Day, originally planned for Saturday, July 18, to Sunday, July 19, due to forecasted weather conditions.
The decision has been made out of an abundance of caution, with the health and safety of festival attendees, volunteers, vendors and staff remaining the highest priority.
Family Fun Day will now take place on Sunday, July 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Robert E. Young Recreation Complex, alongside the Truck & Tractor Pull and Craft Show, creating a full day of family-friendly activities and entertainment.
Visitors can still enjoy many of the attractions originally planned for Saturday, including:
- Delicious BBQ fare featuring peameal bacon on a bun, burgers, hot dogs and cold drinks
- Kids' attractions including bouncy castles, and obstacle course
- Beavertails, Snowie sno-cones and fresh lemonade
- The popular Craft Show in the upstairs of the Ennismore Community Centre (11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., $2 admission)
- The Truck & Tractor Pull, with gates opening at 10:30 a.m. and the pull beginning at 12:00 noon (admission $10 per person, children 12 and under free, cash only)
The Garage and Bake Sale at the Ennismore Curling Club continues as scheduled.
We appreciate the understanding and flexibility of our community, volunteers, vendors and event partners as we make this change. While we're disappointed that weather conditions have impacted our original plans, we're looking forward to welcoming everyone on Sunday for an exciting day celebrating this long-standing community tradition."
The Township of Selwyn and the Ennismore Shamrock Festival Committee encourage everyone planning to attend to monitor the weather forecast and dress appropriately for outdoor activities.
