Reporting to the Mayor and Council, the Chief Administrative Officer is responsible for the strategic leadership and efficient delivery of all the municipality’s administrative and operational services. As the key advisor to Council, you will embrace our vision, mission and strategic priorities and develop and implement operational plans to ensure the coordination of services which align to and support our strategic priorities. You will recommend policies, plans, and programs that benefit our residents by being innovative, accountable and fiscally sound. You will work to enhance growth and development in the community, as well as ensure the effective utilization of resources through the priorities and guiding principles as identified by Council.

Leading a talented team, you will inspire a dedicated workforce and help foster a workplace culture focused on service excellence, innovation and teamwork while positioning Selwyn as an employer of choice. We offer a competitive compensation of $153,629 to $186,909 plus pension, benefits, vacation, training and development, not to mention an opportunity to work with an engaged Council in a beautiful rural, lakeside community.

The Township is seeking an Administrative Assistant – Planning & By-law who will, as a member of the Customer Service & Administrative Support Team, provide customer service and administrative support to the general Township operations. Reporting to the Manager of Building & Planning, provides administrative support, advice, and interpretation as it relates to the Zoning By-law and Official Plan, and also reviews and processes Development Applications and Zoning Certificates. This position administers Licensing applications, coordinates complaint files and provides administrative support for the Planning Services and By-law Enforcement area, while fostering excellence in customer service.

The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary education or equivalent in an office administration or a planning related discipline and a minimum of one-year relevant administrative experience preferably in a municipal setting. Knowledge of planning principles, concepts, practices, and methods is considered an asset.

This person will be expected to work independently, using initiative and good judgement in carrying out the duties of the position. The person must be flexible, adaptable and possess excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. This person requires superior customer service skills and must act professionally in providing service to the public. Good knowledge in the use of personal computers, word processing and the ability to use various planning/database/mapping applications, is also required to fulfil the requirements of the position. 

The 2026 salary range for this position is $28.11 - $34.20 per hour based on a 35-hour work week.

The Township of Selwyn is seeking applications for the seasonal position of Campground Lead Attendant, to assist with overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of the Lakefield Campground ensuring efficient campground, day-use and facility services.

In this customer service focused role, the ideal candidate will have at a minimum one year’s experience in campground or park operations including knowledge or park management practices, outdoor recreation, environmental conservation and land management. Candidates holding a Recreation and Leisure Services diploma or equivalent are preferred. Experience using outdoor groundskeeping tools and machinery is considered an asset. Candidates must have the proven ability to handle cash, debit, and credit card payments and hold a valid Class “G” or “G2” driver’s license. Good swimming skills are required. Candidates with lifesaving training and/or certification and current CPR and/or First Aid certification will be preferred. Candidates may be required to obtain a Food Safety Training Certificate if they haven’t already successfully completed a course. Chainsaw Operator Certification is considered an asset

Applicants with knowledge of the Trent-Severn Waterway will be preferred. The individual will be expected to work as a lead member of a small team, while using initiative and good judgment in carrying out the duties of the position. The person must demonstrate initiative and possess excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills. 

The person requires superior interpersonal skills and customer focus and must act professionally in providing service to the public and as a representative of the municipality. 

The 2026 pay range for this position is $23.21/hour to $25.11/hour and the typical work week will be between 35 - 40 hours. This position will require candidates to be available for weekend and day & evening shifts throughout the season starting mid-April through mid-October 2026.
