Flood Warning issued for the Trent Severn-Waterway
FLOOD WARNING extended for the Trent-Severn Waterway in the jurisdiction of Otonabee Conservation. Flooding of low-lying, flood-prone areas along the Trent-Severn Waterway is imminent or occurring and expected to worsen as water levels and flows continue to rise.

Register to Vote for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election
Use Elections Ontario’s Voter Registration Service to confirm, update, add or remove your voter information for provincial and municipal elections, including School Board Trustee elections.
School support information is collected by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC). To update your school support, use MPAC’s Online School Support Tool.
Half Load Restrictions
Half-load restrictions in the Township of Selwyn will begin Sunday, March 1, 2026.
To protect our road network during the spring thaw, half-load restrictions are implemented annually beginning March 1, in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act. These measures help prevent road damage when municipal roads are most vulnerable to heavy vehicle traffic.
During this period, vehicles are limited to a maximum of 5 tonnes per axle, and truck and commercial transport access may be restricted in affected areas.
Restrictions remain in effect until April 30, 2026, unless otherwise announced.

The municipal and school board election is on October 26, 2026.
Voting will be available starting on October 13, 2026 at 10:00 AM and will be available 24/7 until Election Day - October 26, 2026 with voting ending at 8:00 PM.
Avoid additional paperwork by registering on our Voters' List. You can register up to and on the date of the Election. While you can be added to the Voter's List at the Municipal Office on the date of election, this may create delays and a longer waiting time. Make sure you give yourself enough time to both register and cast your vote.
You can check to see if you are on the Voters' List or if your information is incorrect (i.e. incorrect school support or name misspelled) The municipality will review your request and send you an email advising of the next steps.

For the 2026 Municipal Election, Selwyn Township will offer Internet or Telephone voting. Eligible electors will be able to vote from a mobile device, computer, telephone, cell phone, tablet, or laptop. Internet or telephone voting is a convenient option for electors, allowing them to access ballots anytime, anywhere.
Eligible voters will receive a personalized voting instruction package well before Election Day (October 26, 2026) with details on how to vote online or by phone.
For the 2026 elections, voting will be open beginning October 13, 2026 until 8:00 PM on October 26, 2026.
Computers and telephones will be available at the Municipal Office (1310 Centre Line, Selwyn) during the voting period for public use:
