Ennismore Community Centre

553 Ennis Road, Ennismore

Located at Robert E. Young Recreation Complex, the Ennismore Community Centre features one sheet of ice in the winter. In the summer, the Centre is used for summer day camps, trade shows and special events.

Lakefield-Smith Community Centre

20 Concession Street, Lakefield

Home to the Lakefield Chiefs Jr. C hockey team, the Lakefield-Smith Community Centre features one sheet of ice in the winter. In the summer, the Centre is used for summer day camps, trade shows, product shows, concerts and special events.

Public Skating Schedule

Our drop-in public skating program is a leisurely skate for all ages. This is a great way to spend time with family and friends while being active.

Entry fee for public skating is $3.00 per person, unless the event is sponsored by one of our amazing local businesses!

Our drop-in Parent & Tot Skate offers a slower paced leisurely skate, which provides a safe environment. This is a great way to introduce your child to skating. Parent & Tot Skating begins October 5th, 2026, and runs through to March 28th, 2027.

Please Note: There will be no Parent & Tot Skate in Ennismore on Monday, October 26th, 2026 and Monday, February 1st, 2027.

Our drop-in Senior Skate offers a slower paced leisurely skate for those aged 55+ and is a great way to stay active in the cooler months. Seniors Skating begins October 5th, 2026 and runs through to March 28th, 2027.

Stick and Puck is back, and we’ve made some exciting changes!

Adults 18 years and older are invited to hit the ice for Stick and Puck at the Lakefield-Smith Community Centre. 

This drop-in program runs Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon beginning October 14th.

Ice times:
10:00 AM - 11:00  AM - Ages 55+ (only)
11:00 AM -  12 Noon - Open to all players 18+

Please note: skaters must pay per session. 

Participants must bring their own equipment!

Whether you’re looking to work on your skills or just enjoy some ice time, Stick and Puck is a great midweek option. We’ll see you at the rink!

There will be no Stick & Puck over the Christmas Holidays (December 30th and January 6th).

Drop-in youth shinny hockey is a great way to play a game of pick-up hockey with friends and family. You are required to wear full equipment during shinny hockey and adult supervision is required.

Every PA Day and snow day at the Ennismore Community Centre.
Cost: $5 per person. Non-contact. Full hockey equipment mandatory. Parental/guardian supervision required while your child is at the Arena.

  • 9:00AM to 10:00AM: Players aged 8 and under
  • 10:00AM to 11:00AM: Players ages 9 to 11
  • 11:00AM to 12 Noon: Players aged 12 and older

Note: Check the Selwyn Township Facebook page day-of to ensure Youth Shinny is running or contact the Parks & Recreation Department at 705-292-9507 ext. 243. Please note that shinny will run based on ice availability and will be scheduled around existing arena bookings.
