Employment Opportunities

Equipment Operator / Labourer

The Township is seeking an Equipment Operator / Labourer who will provide a variety of maintenance and construction services to municipal roads and facilities.

The ideal candidate will have Grade 12 education or equivalent and will hold a valid Class “D” driver’s license with “Z” endorsement. Previous related experience and a strong knowledge of road construction maintenance activities and safety procedures is required. 

The person may be expected to act as a group leader and direct the work of part-time staff, while using initiative and good judgment in carrying out the duties of the position. The person must be flexible, adaptable and show a demonstrated ability to work well within a team. Preference may be shown to candidates with prior experience in a similar position within a public works department, including sanding and salting roads and sidewalks, and operating a snow plow, including wing back operations.

The person requires superior interpersonal and customer service skills and must act professionally in providing service to the public and as a representative of the municipality. 

The salary range for this position will be $25.24 - $30.71 per hour based on a 42 hour work week.
