Intersection Enhancements at County Road 22 (Curve Lake Road/16th Line) and County Road 23 (Buckhorn Road)
The second of two Public Information Centres (PIC) will take place on Wednesday May 28th, 2025, from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the Wesley United Church, located on the northeast corner of County Road 22 and Country Road 23.
PIC #2 will be an open house format with no formal presentation. Doors for the public will open at 5:30 pm. This PIC will provide another opportunity to review Study information and ask questions regarding the Study process.
The County of Peterborough (County) together with their Consultant, D.M. Wills Associates Ltd. (Wills), has been undertaking a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) to complete the design for intersection enhancements at CR 23 (Buckhorn Road) and CR 22 (Curve Lake Rd/16th Line). The general location of the Study is shown in the figure below.
THE PROCESS:
This Study is following the Schedule ‘B’ of the MCEA, October 2000, as amended in 2023 process. This Environmental Assessment involves Public Consultation and Indigenous Community Engagement. To date, Archeological and Natural Environment Assessments have been completed.
CONSULTATION TO DATE:
PIC #1, held on September 19th, 2024, introduced the proposed intersection enhancements, including the design alternatives being considered – traffic lights and a roundabout. PIC #1 offered the first opportunity for public input, as well as offered a chance to be included to the distribution list for the Study.
If you are unable to attend, members of the project team (contact details provided below) are available to answer questions regarding the Study. Materials will be available for viewing through the County’s website under Roads and Bridges, Projects in Planning Stage (www.ptbocounty.ca).
