Welcome Letters (mailed January 9, 2024)

Three (3) different letters were generated and mailed along with physical copies of the enrolment/application forms; samples are below:

Welcome Letter sample - Owners included a pre-authorized payment plan (PAP) form
Welcome Letter sample - Owners with tenants included a pre-authorized payment plan (PAP) form and a tenant application

Billing Information

Due Dates

Residential: Flat-rate accounts will be sent every 2 months by the 8th of the month and will be due on the 28th of the month.
Industrial, commercial, institutional: Metered accounts will be sent every month by the 8th of the month and will be due on the 28th of the month.

Penalty and Reminder Notices

Reminder notice will be issued for balances over $10.00.

Penalty is charged at the rate of 10% on default.

Unpaid Water & Sewer balances over $25.00 will be added to the Property Tax account and collected like taxes if they remain unpaid 10 days past the date of the reminder notice.

Owner/Tenant Accounts

Tenants can request that the Water & Sewer Invoice be created in their name using the Lakefield Water and Sewer: Account Changes form.

When Township staff receive this form, they contact the registered property owner to have them complete an authorization form allowing us to create the account on behalf of their tenant.

Payment Options

Water & Sewer Invoices will be payable by pre-authorized payment plan, online/telephone banking, cash, debit or cheque. For details, please see our Payment Options and Information page.

Paperless Billing with Virtual Town Hall (VTH)

You will be able to receive a digital copy of your Water & Sewer Invoice by signing up for Paperless Notifications. To access the digital copy, you will log into your Virtual Town Hall account.
