Enhancements to the James A. Gifford Causeway

Please note that the installation of 21 Multi-Use Path (MUP) lighting poles on the south side of the Causeway is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, January 23rd, weather permitting, and will extend throughout the week. 

Temporary lane restrictions will be in place with flagging operations during the installation of the 21 poles.

The activation and verification of account status with Hydro One may cause a delay in the operational commencement of the MUP lighting illumination.

Upon conclusion, Phase 1 (Road Works) of the Causeway construction project will be concluded.

Attention:

The installation of Multi-Use Path (MUP) lighting is subject to weather conditions, and work may be intermittent due to winter weather conditions throughout the week. 

Next Steps for Enhancement:

Phase 2 is scheduled to commence this Spring, involving "Bridge" construction on the Causeway which will continue throughout 2024.
